Families with Kids

Barossa Shiraz Estate may be the perfect place for a romantic getaway, however, it is also perfect for getting away with your family, and these are just some of the things that you can do.

After you have had your fill of bacon and eggs for breakfast, you can take the bikes and ride to the Lyndoch bakery for a hot chocolate and slice of German Cake.  Another 5 minute ride away is Altona Reserve where you can do a scenic walk in just under an hour, and depending on the time of day you might even see the odd kangaroo wandering around.

Now that your morning exercise is done, its time to hop in the car and head to the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company in Tanunda for lunch at Benni’s cafe and to buy some wonderful chocolate to take home with you.  You can even view the chocolate being made.  Just around the corner is Barossa Bowland where it is time for a family game of either 10 pin bowling or mini golf  – or both!

Head on into Tanunda and take a stroll down the main street.  Finish up at Z wines where the parents can end the day with a glass of wine and the kids with a food and non-alcoholic drink pairing.

This is just one day in the Barossa and there are still plenty of other things to do, such as a visit to the Whispering Wall and the Barossa Goldfields, or jumping on a Segway at Seppeltsfield.
